The Lookout Mountain Cavern and The Ruby Falls

The Ruby Falls is the tallest and deepest underground waterfall open to the public. It is located at the end of the cave path in the historic Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Before reaching the waterfalls, one will marvel at the many unique geological wonders found along the cave path...

At the end of the cave tour one will be rewarded by the breathtaking sight of Ruby Falls. The lights on the ground just below the waterfall change its colors every 30 seconds and it gives an even more beautiful effect of the sight. However, one will have only 5 minutes to enjoy the sight and after that, all the lights are turned off. It signals that the tour has already ended so the people has to go back to the same path they trod in going to the falls. But the last 5 minutes of the tour inside the cavern is the best part of it because one will behold the "Jewel of the Lookout Mountain", that is Ruby

Special Project

My husband has been buying all kinds of plants that will attract bees and butterflies so I thought of a special project - monitor the different stages of the butterfly development. I just thought it's fun doing so :)

At one time, there were 16 caterpillars that were munching on our butterfly weeds! It's kind of scary looking at them but the thought that one day they'll turn into one of the most beautiful creatures just amazes me :) It took me long to get a picture of the monarch butterfly because it's just so elusive, it will fly away whenever I tried to get a closer shot of it.

Right now, the butterfly weeds are bald because all its leaves are eaten by the caterpillars and there are 2 cocoons in our fence that haven't opened

Splendid Display of Christmas Decors

Last December 10, Chris' dad took us to Pecan Grove Subdivision in Richmond, Texas where most of the houses display such grandiose and extravagant Christmas decors. Each house seems to compete each other on the magnificence of their Christmas ornaments. I've never seen anything like that before. It feels like I was out of this world when I saw such fancy and intricate decorations for the Christmas holidays...

These are just a few of the photos I took on that night. Others didn't turn out really good when I tried to use the night scene effect of the camera since my hands were trembling with the freezing cold

Lost Maples State Natural Area

Hidden deep in a remote Hill Country canyon lies a fall color display. Each November at Lost Maples State Natural Area, bigtooth maple trees transform into a spectacular blace of red, yellow and orange hues. During the rest of the year, the park is less crowded and visitors can enjoy the park's other beautiful characteristics - steep, rugged limestone canyons, bubbling springs, plateau grasslands, wooded slopes and clear streams - at their leisure.

Convertibles at the Pecan Festival Parade

These are part of the photos I took at the parade in Colfax, Louisiana as part of their Pecan Festival celebration last November 3, 2007.

I like convertible cars so I'm posting a separate album just for these cars :) I don't know the exact model no. of these cars so I'm only stating the manufacturer's name based on the logo I find in front of the cars. If I don't see its logo, I'm just making a guess for its manufacturer

Views on the Road Upon Our Return to Houston

It was a very fine day when we left Louisiana for Houston on the 26th of August. The sunset was so beautiful and I was so glad to catch a glimpse of the rays of the setting sun. The sunset has been one of my favorite subjects to shoot pictures.

When we were getting nearer to Houston, the skies got darker until it has started to pour. But I was able to enjoy taking photos of the skies above while I still could before the rain blur the view of the windshield.

All photos are taken while Chris is driving 65-70mph. The pictures turned out good (for me at least :D), even those that of the city lights in Houston which seem to dance from a

Houston Zoo Animals

August 12, 2007

Houston Zoo is the largest zoo I've been to so far. There are over 4,500 species of animals which are permanent residents of the zoo. But I took pictures of only a few, I don't have enough memory card for I also take picture of the animals' identification.
I believe the zoo's real attractions are the aquariums filled with so many beautiful underwater creatures. It was my first time to see fishes of different colors, I especially liked the blue ones and the pink ones, I think they're so

10 Steps to Success in Work

10. Don't get the idea that you are Atlas, carrying the world on your shoulder. The world would go on even without you. Don't take yourself so seriously.

9. Tell yourself that you like your work. Then it will become a pleasure, not a drudgery. Perhaps you do not need to change your job. Change yourself, your work will seem different.

8. Plan your work - work your plan. Lack of system produces that "I'm swamped" feeling.

7. Don't try to do everything at once. That is why time is spread out. Operate on what wise advice from the Bible, "The one thing I do."

6. Get a correct mental attitude. Think a job is hard, and you will make it hard. Think it is easy, and it will tend to become so.

5. Become an expert in your work. It is always easier to do a thing right.

4. Practice being relaxed. Easy always does it. Don't press or strain.

3. Do not put off until tomorrow what you can do today. It only make tomorrow's job harder. It piles up on you. Keep your work on schedule.

2. At the start of every day, ...

A Tribute to an Online Buddy Who Passed Away

Bubuekak. JL. Lee.
He's the same person whom I've known only here in multiply through his photography and blogs. I remember the first time I saw his posted photos in his site; right then, I became an instant fan of his photography talent and upon seeing that I visited his site, he invited me to become his contact as an online buddy here in Multiply. Thus we became connected...I visit his site often just to admire his photography and how very good he is at it. I always look forward to his new albums and blogs, because aside from being informative, his posts are also entertaining.

We've exchanged a few pms when I was just new in this site because I asked him how to enhance the settings of my page and he was kind enough to answer my queries. I could say that he's a really good person and his friends' testimonies after his death will speak much for himself.

On January 13, I received an email notification from Multiply of Mr. Junmark's latest post in his site, it was entitled "In Memoriam...

An Open Advice About Career Decisions

I got an email from a friend that is worth sharing and is somewhat an eye opener for those who are contemplating to leave their present jobs...read on and find out for yourself if this does make sense :)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have worked for more than 5 companies already so I guess you might be correct in saying I have had considerable experience about leaving and moving on. I will not stop you nor tell you to leave, leaving or staying I believe, based from my personal experiences and as an HR professional, should only be done for the right reasons.

For one, you shouldn't leave because you don't like several people in the company, nor should you stay because of the friends you have made here. At the end of the day, it is your life. Your friends or "enemies" should not make or break your career. If you let them be the deciding factor, then maybe you should think twice. You are the craftsman of your fate and the captain of your ship. Captain Hook...
